How to apply for a Schengen visa from Ghana
The short stay Schengen visa (Type C) covers up to 90 days in any 180 day period across the 29 Schengen countries. This is the route most Ghanaian applicants follow.
Requirements and fees change. Always confirm current rules with the embassy or official application centre. We do this for every client.

1Choose the right embassy
Apply to the country where you will spend the most nights, or where you enter first if the nights are equal.

2Apply at the right time
Up to 6 months before travel, and no later than 15 days before departure.

3Check your passport
Issued within the last 10 years, valid at least 3 months after you leave the Schengen Area, with 2 blank pages.

4Gather supporting documents
Bank statements, employment or business proof, flight reservation, accommodation, itinerary and travel insurance with at least 30,000 euro medical cover.

5Book your appointment
Submit at the official visa application centre or embassy in Accra, where fingerprints and a photo are taken.

6Pay the visa fee and wait
The standard adult fee is 90 euro. Decisions usually take about 15 calendar days and can be longer in peak season.

Can you guarantee my visa will be approved?
No, and be careful of anyone who says they can. Every decision belongs to the embassy. What we do is make sure your application is complete, consistent and as strong as your situation allows, which is what most refusals come down to.
How early should I start my application?
For Schengen, begin 2 to 3 months before travel. Appointment slots in Accra can fill up quickly around summer and Christmas. UK, US and Canada applications often need longer, so talk to us as soon as your dates are likely.
Do I pay for flights and hotels before the visa is approved?
Usually not. For most applications, a flight reservation and a refundable hotel booking are enough. We confirm and pay for the real bookings once your visa comes through.
I was refused before. Can you still help?
Yes. Bring your refusal letter. We go through the stated reasons, work out what needs to change in your file, and advise when it makes sense to reapply.
What are your fees?
The first consultation is free. Our service fee depends on the visa type and how much of the trip we handle, and we confirm it in writing before any work starts. Embassy and application centre fees are paid separately.
